Need Rent or Mortgage Assistance?
We’re able to provide life-changing essentials to our neighbors in need.
The Sharing Center has been loving our neighbors since 1986. We are more than just a singular resource for those facing difficult circumstances.
We address immediate needs, as well as provide extended support through programs that lead those experiencing poverty toward a better future and long-term stability.
Nourishing families and individuals with dignity. Through The Pantry, we offer one of the largest free food assistance resources in Seminole County to alleviate hunger.
Hope begins here. We see to it that individuals and families experiencing poverty receive comprehensive services from the moment they arrive to when they depart.
The Oasis, our homeless respite center, is the only place in Seminole County that provides showers, laundry service, housing guidance, internet access, mail service, and haircut services.
“We would not have been able to complete this project without the support of Heart of Florida United Way,” said Nina Yon, President & CEO of The Sharing Center. “The overwhelming need of the services we provide is ever-growing, and we want to continue to share those services at the maximum capacity. That said, we are certainly blessed with a community that cares for those underserved and has stepped up to make this expansion a reality.”
Funding for this initiative is from a historic $20 million gift from philanthropist and author MacKenzie Scott. This was the largest single gift HFUW has ever received in the organization’s 83-year history.
The Live United Village will help individuals experiencing financial hardship transition into economic stability through job training, job searches and stable housing. Within a 12-month period, it is anticipated to lift 126 family members out of poverty through a newly launched program ProjectRISE (Reach, Inspire, Sustain, and Empower), a workforce development program for individuals and their families to gain skillful employment, financial freedom, and housing stability.
90% of every donation is used to prevent hunger and homelessness.
Welcome loyal and new shoppers! The Village Shoppes hours are Monday - Saturday, 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. You are able to drop-off donations, Monday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
