The Resilient Heroes Behind the Scenes
Written by: Lynn Pham
March is National Social Workers Month and we want to recognize our team’s efforts to bring relief back into the lives of our struggling neighbors.
Suzanne Conty has been The Sharing Center’s lead client service coordinator for over 10 years. When asked about her experience, she says, “It really touches me when I hear a client’s story and what they have been through. We are working very hard to assist families in keeping the roof over their heads.”
Before the pandemic, The Sharing Center team provided one-on-one financial guidance and education to families and individuals helping to gain the critical skill of managing a household budget. Our case managers’ duties were, and continue to be, altered as the pandemic continues. Rather than meeting individually, each case manager works with families in crisis in the afternoons. The mornings are dedicated to accepting new family applications and distributing enough food for a family’s weekly grocery needs.
Throughout the pandemic, The Sharing Center has remained open to serve our neighbors in need. Each case manager is an essential part of this community.
Heroes are found in our everyday lives. We have several right here on our campus. They’re not performing their duties to seek the bright spotlight. They often work for the greater good, serving those in need. Let’s appreciate their efforts and contributions to making our community better and brighter. We are grateful to work with such incredible people.
