Publix Super Markets Charities Supports The Sharing Center’s Pantry
The hunger crisis is growing at an exponential rate while showing little to no mercy to those who are struggling to meet their basic needs. Today, 2.2 million people around the state of Florida are facing hunger – 660,500 children are living through that harsh reality.
The Sharing Center’s Pantry lives in the heart of Seminole County to serve families and individuals impacted by unattainable food costs and food insecurity. Factors like higher grocery bills and an overall higher cost of living are among the stacking hardships that our neighbors face. Leading many to believe that they must choose between paying their rent or feeding their families.
The Sharing Center believes that no one should have to decide between hunger and homelessness. With the generosity of Publix Super Markets Charities, we are able to continue offering our community food assistance to navigate through these difficult times.
Thank you, Publix Super Markets Charities, for supporting our mission and helping us combat the hunger crisis skyrocketing in our own backyard. Over the course of the past year, Publix has donated mountains of food and served 347 hours of volunteer work, which is estimated to be a $410,392 value for their time.
With this grant of $6,500, The Sharing Center will empower its food assistance program to serve more families and individuals in need facing hunger and food insecurities.
