Lawrence Altman joined The Sharing Center in 2023 after connecting with our volunteer program through AARP. With a diverse professional background and a lifelong desire to help others, Lawrence has found a meaningful way to give back to the community.

Throughout his career, Lawrence worked as a motion picture equipment salesman and was one of the early entrepreneurs selling on eBay in the late 1990s, before PayPal became widely used. Later, his life took a different direction when he became his mother’s full-time caregiver for seven years. After relocating to Orlando, he was introduced to The Sharing Center and knew he wanted to serve.

Lawrence believes his mission is to help people and considers it a privilege to volunteer. He hopes to remind others they are not alone and finds joy in knowing his time and efforts bring hope to those in need. Through his service, Lawrence is helping make a difference one person at a time.
