TSC Christmas Around the Village Event – 200 Children Experienced the Joy of Giving
The spirit of Christmas came alive in our community this holiday season! On Sunday, December 8th, The Sharing Center hosted a heartwarming event designed to empower children with the joy of giving. In a celebration filled with laughter, music, and twinkling lights, 200 local children were sponsored by Celebration Restaurant Group and given gift vouchers to shop for meaningful holiday gifts for their parents or guardians.
Held at The Sharing Center’s thrift store, this event was more than just an opportunity to shop—it was a chance to create lasting memories for client families. Volunteers from Celebration Restaurant Group transformed the thrift store into a winter wonderland, offering a festive atmosphere and an array of affordable gift options. From cozy scarves to thoughtful keepsakes, every child found something special for their loved ones.
Throughout the day, cheerful volunteers helped children select, purchase, and wrap their gifts, ensuring a magical and stress-free experience. For many of these children, this was their first time choosing and giving gifts, making the event especially meaningful.
“This event is about more than just presents—it’s about teaching children the value of giving and the joy that comes with it,” said Matt Borchelt, COO of The Sharing Center. “Seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter reminded us all of what the holidays are truly about.”
