Growing a Welcoming Environment

By The Sharing Center, Jul 23 2019 10:50PM

Have you noticed the beautiful new greenery in The Sharing Center Plaza? Twenty-eight sabal palms, five oak trees, and six holly trees were recently planted as part of our continuing beautification project thanks to the support of 3D Tree of Orlando and Tree Town of Bunnell. This project began over three years ago with the design and continued support of Dix.Hite+Partners of Longwood. They created our mural depicting the journey of neighbors who unite to create a community sunflower garden for all to enjoy. The broader impact of kindness and collaboration tie back to The Sharing Center goals. The mural's bright colors were then incorporated into the plaza. The landscape environment is a key component not just for its beauty but because it promotes improved human health and well-being.

The next update comes from Connor Brindle who is raising funds to purchase plants for one of the islands. He and his troop will install them as part of his Eagle Scout Project. We are most appreciative of everyone's efforts to make The Sharing Center a more welcoming and uplifting place for our clients, customers and volunteers.

Please note that the final funding needed for this project was provided by Sharing Center Properties. Sharing Center Properties owns and manages the plaza. It is sustained by the rental income generated by the tenants. Fortunately, the plaza has been at 100% occupancy, enabling it to make some much needed enhancements. This project in no way reduces any funding to our clients or programs.
